Report: Magic Johnson, Lakers Learning Quickly Who Runs LeBron’s Teams

The Lakers universe is sort of different than the rest of the NBA. Things got even crazier after Lakers owner Jeanie Buss and president of basketball operations Magic Johnson signed LeBron James.

Truth is, everything spins around LeBron at the moment. Magic Johnson knows that. Every game, every schedule, and pretty much everything related to the basketball court is adjusted to the king of basketball.

The Lakers had an interesting season. We witnessed the scuffle with Houston Rockets’ Chris Paul and the couple of suspensions. Now we have Johnson and head coach Luke Walton “fixing issues.” Is Magic Johnson out of patience.
Everyone would agree that LeBron makes people behave sort of irrationally.

“As he should. Cleveland has the same roster with the same coach [until Tyronn Lue was fired] and went from best to worst in the East. The Lakers haven’t sniffed the playoffs in [five] years and will make it this year in the West with a deeply flawed roster,” a Western conference general manager said.

Is Johnson nervous around LeBron James? Well, we know that he will not fire Luke Walton during the season. Walton is safe at the moment. That was not the case with Davit Blatt in LeBron’s second tour of duty in Cleveland. Blatt was around for a season and a half, and there is no chance that Walton goes out now.

The team added Tyson Chandler, and things improved after Magic confronted Walton. The Lakers defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves, and this comes as a surprise, because they lost to them on Oct. 29.

Suns vice president of basketball operations James Jones is a close friend and longtime teammate of LeBron, and he helped the Lakers get Chandler.

“They could have bought him out at the trade deadline and gotten great leadership and mentoring for two-thirds of the season. But LeBron wanted him now,” a rival exec noted.
