What The Jimmy Butler-Sixers Trade Means For L.A. Lakers

Many NBA fans hoped to see the end of the Jimmy Butler Saga. The Minnesota Timberwolves sent him straight to the Philadelphia 76ers, and this is sort of associated with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Jimmy Butler is out of the West Conference, and that changes pretty much everything. When he first demanded a trade, Butler said that he would really like to play in Los Angeles. However, many say that he was actually trying to force himself to the Lakers. Of course, this is not the case with Butler, and people will just have to stick to their rumors.

Butler is in Philadelphia, and maybe that was the only right move he could make. The Los Angeles Lakers would never lose Brandon Ingram or Lonzo Ball in an awkward Butler trade. This was in no way an option, and that’s the truth.

Now that Butler is out of the Western Conference, Kawhi Leonard is left with one fewer suitor. Things will have to turn really bad for Philadelphia to change its course and sign Leonard. This is good news for Magic Johnson, Rob Pelinka and the rest of the Lakers front office. They have one fewer team to be concerned about, and that’s a good scenario.

Butler had to go as things got really heated in Minnesota. If Karl-Anthony Towns and Tom Thibodeau work well together, Minnesota can still be considered a competitive team. Butler was never a realistic option for the Los Angeles Lakers. They will still have to work things out in the Western Conference, and this season may be one of the greatest challenges they have had recently.

It is time to move forward, and the rest of the teams in the Western Conference are here to compete. Who will be the ultimate winner? There are so many predictions out there…
