Report: Rex Burkhead Was At New England Patriots Tuesday Practice

The New England Patriots can relax now as Rex Burkhead joined the team for practice.

Burkhead was not spotted at the beginning of the practice, and it was believed that he will miss the game. However, the running back told ESPN’s Mike Reiss and others that he was on the field, adding that he just missed the opening part of the practice. Reiss said that the reason for the running back’s absence from this part of the session was not related to any injury.

Henry McKenna of PatriotsWire offered more details saying that Burkhead was late because of the birth of his baby boy, Jett.

This is great news for everyone, including Burkhead. He is of great help for the team, and the Patriots welcome him. It is quite a relief that Burkhead is not dealing with any injury or health condition.

ESPN confirmed that Burkhead will return to the team in December. He spent most of his season on injured reserve. The running back was placed on IR after the Patriots’ loss to the Detroit Lions. Burkhead lost the game due to a neck injury, but reports confirm that he was sidelined because of a concussion.

Burkhead joined the team for practice on November 8. He used the team’s second and last opportunity to bring a teammate off of injured reserve. Rookie corner Duke Dawson was the first to be brought off of the IR.

Things went really well for Burkhead, and if everything goes this way, he will be able to play with the team in Week 13 against the Minnesota Vikings on December 2 in Foxboro.

Burkhead was a strong option for the Patriots in the team’s running and passing game out of the backfield. Last year he played in 10 games in the regular season due to his injuries and knee issue.
