Report: Luke Walton Facing A Critical Challenge From LeBron James

LeBron James is one of the greatest players of all times. He knows a lot about basketball, and we know that King James is a coach killer. What does that mean? Is LeBron ignoring authority? Well, one thing stands for sure, he gets whatever he wants on the court. The same applies to Lakers head coach Luke Walton.

Latest reports from ESPN are focused on LeBron James. Brian Windhorst said that LeBron ignores the calls from Luke Walton.

“When James is running the point, he rarely looks toward the bench to receive play calls from coach Luke Walton. Even when he has seen them, the scouts say, he ignores them and runs the play he prefers,” he wrote.

“Walton has adjusted, and now when James is running the show, Walton will typically just let him call the game. This probably shouldn’t be considered a slight — it’s just James being James.”

The relationship between LeBron and Luke Walton was making headlines since the very first moment LeBron joined the Los Angeles Lakers. The head coach was brought in two years ago to oversee the rebuild. He was supposed to lead the offense that was focused on Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart, Lonzo Ball and Kyle Kuzma.

“When James showed up in Los Angeles, that plan immediately became a lot murkier. Just 20 games into the season, it seems Walton is falling into the bucket of David Blatt and Mike Brown: coaches who couldn’t hold authority over the sharpest basketball mind on the planet.”

Walton has been coaching in the NBA for a couple of years. He was a big figure in the offensive system that brought the Warriors to the big gate, and he is younger than some players. But, he is a great coach.

However, nobody can forget his “meeting” with Magic Johnson.
