LeBron James Comments On Televising Captains’ Picks ‘What’s bad about it…?’

LeBron James had a great time picking his All-Star team with Steph Curry last season, and believes there is nothing wrong with watching the process play out on television this season.

ESPN reports that the NBA and NBA Players Association agreed to televise the two All-Star captains choosing their squads for the 2019 All-Star Game in Charlotte. The New York Times provided the first report.

What’s bad about it? It’s All-Star Weekend. You got 24 of the best players in the world that’s going to make the team. It doesn’t matter if you’re first or last, you’re 24 of the best in the world at that point in time. I don’t think it’ll be bad. We’ll see,” LeBron James said when asked if this is a good thing.

Last season, the league added a new wrinkle to the All-Star Game format with fans selecting the five starters for the Eastern and Western Conference. The leading vote-getter in each party drafts the other 11 players on their squad like a fantasy draft.

LeBron James and Steph Curry were the first captains to participate in the process last year.

“It was great, me and Steph, we had a great time drafting on the phone just picking. Fantasy basketball for us. It was fun,” LeBron said.

“I think obviously there are certain personalities that can add to it. But it all depends how much the captains are going to get into it, as far as their draft boards. We’ll see,” he added.

LeBron is getting ready for his next matchup with the Los Angeles Lakers. Although the team did not have the best start of the regular season, they still have chances of winning more games. Hopefully, they will work on their mistakes and stop losing games over minor misleads. The Lakers are a strong team, remember that.
