New England Patriots Media Reacts to Loss To Titans

The New England Patriots lost the game to the Tennessee Titans, and many would agree that this was the worst game of the Belichick era. The team arrived in Nashville hoping for an easy win, but things did not really work their way.

The Patriots literally allowed the Tennessee Titans to destroy them by a final score of 34-10. Were the Patriots miserable? Of course they were. They were bad in every facet of the contest, and gave up awesome field position to the Titans on too many occasions.

Marcus Mariota shredded them. Literally. The offense could not protect quarterback Tom Brady, and the numbers say it all. This game was a complete disaster for the defending AFC champions. It could not even get any worse, and the media knows that.

The Patriots did not play at full strength offensively. Shaq Mason and Rob Gronkowski were not on the field. The team had so many people cheering on them in Nashville.

The team surrendered great field position to their opponents all year. They cannot brag with a strong defense at the moment. “Patriots came into the game last in the NFL in terms of opponents starting field position (27.1-yard line). Will only get worse after long Titans return to open this one,” Ryan Hannable tweeted.

“Patriots safety Patrick Chung gives up the 4-yard TD to Titans TE Jonnu Smith,” Doug Kyed tweeted. The Titans marched the football up the short field with an ease. The Patriots defense had two great games in a row, and nothing happened this Sunday.

“Tennessee’s 14 first quarter points are most allowed by Patriots all season. Came into the game allowing more than seven just once,” Hannable added.

“Patriots defense looks discombobulated so far. Big runs allowed, and two DPIs for Stephon Gilmore early,” Aaron Schatz added.
