New York Daily News Drops The Hammer On Gronk Before Pats-Jets Game

Tight end Rob Gronkowski missed three games due to his injuries, and he is ready to hit the field. He has the bulletin board material he could wish for heading into the game against the New York Jets. The New York Daily news did it.

Gronk did not have a nice game this season. His numbers are lower than usual. The tight end was able to catch just 29 passes for 448 yards and a touchdown. He was terrible in the red zone and had just a couple of targets and no catches.

Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News used Gronk’s struggles and low numbers to shoot.

“If you love football, you want to remember Rob Gronkowski the way that he should be remembered: Strong, powerful and leaping tall buildings in a single bound.

You want to see him crush poor saps unlucky enough to be assigned to tackle him in the open field. You want to see him chugging – and spiking – beers on a parade float. You want to witness his God-awful dance moves as he tries to pry a smile out of Lord Vader on the sideline.

Alas, that Gronk is gone, replaced by this prideful, wobbly 6-6, 268-pound dude plodding along like some tip-calculator-carrying resident of Del Boca Vista. His body is 29 going on 92. Watching him run around on the few fall Sundays that he’s actually available is cringe-worthy stuff.”

The front page of this publication was arranged in an awkward way.

Mehta also said that Gronkowski is “the best tight end of this generation,” but that his career is over.

Well, this hurts. Gronk will definitely use this as a fuel to hot harder. Mehta is having him all fired up, so the Jets better get ready for the Patriots on Sunday. They are coming!
