Report: Alex Cora Reacts To Selfie With Tom Brady

The Boston Red Sox won the 2018 World Series, and they still celebrate. The champions made their way to the Gillette Stadium on Sunday, right on time for the Patriots’ game against the Green Bay Packers. Alex Cora, J.D. Martinez, Brock Holt and other players hit the field in their duck boat, and they brought in their trophy, too. The best part of the whole thing was probably the moment when Cora took a selfie with quarterback Tom Brady.
The selfie was quite a thing, and Cora said it was the highlight of this week.

“The selfie topped it off, sorry to say it. We’re the world champs, the parade was great, but a selfie with the greatest of all-time, that was the best of the week. I know how locked in he gets, but the fact he came up to me — and he said congratulations to everybody, so I was like, ‘I might as well.’ He didn’t hesitate so it was awesome,” Cora told NESN’s Courtney Cox.

The quarterback was also thrilled to see the Red Sox on the field.

“Yeah, I think we get great support and we have from our entire community and all the states here in New England. What the Red Sox did this year was incredible. I think all the teams in this, Boston certainly, we’re here to win. I think the organizations are committed to winning, so it’s great to see. I mean, it’s fun to be a part of ours. I mean, I love playing here and I love supporting those other teams, too. So, I got a selfie with Alex Cora. That was nice, but he probably didn’t send it to me,” Brady said.

“It was great to have the Red Sox here. What an awesome group that is. To see Alex [Cora] and the great players is certainly inspirational for me. To talk with them before the game and to have them out there for the start of the game. Again, what a tremendous year they’ve had and set the bar so high for all of the rest of us, but that’s a good thing. That’s where we want it. It was good to have them,” head coach Bill Belichick said of the Red Sox presence at the stadium.
