Report: Newly Released Update Emerges On Sony Michel’s Status Vs. Titans

Cordarrelle Patterson did an amazing job with the team, but the New England Patriots are ready to have their ultimate ball-carrier back in action this week. There is a good chance that rookie running back Sony Michel plays in the game against the Tennessee Titans.

Sony Michel missed the last two games due to his knee injury, and is expected to play this Sunday, as confirmed by ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

“After missing the past two games with a knee injury, Patriots’ RB Sony Michel is likely to return Sunday vs. Titans, per source. Just needs a good week of practice with no setbacks, but on track,” Schefter reported.

Michel suffered a knee injury in the second quarter of the Week 7 contest against the Chicago Bears. He did not play with the team against the Buffalo Bills and Green Bay Packers, but we saw him hit the field in the team’s last four practice. He was a limited, player, of course.

Michel missed some playing time due to a knee issues in the preseason, and was unavailable in the last two games of the regular season. The Patriots decided to use Patterson as their lead back. He carried the ball 21 times against the Bills and Packers, and was able to total 99 yards and a touchdown.

Gronk’s status is less certain. According to Schefter, the Patriots may rest Rob Gronkowski as he still recovers from his ankle and back injuries. The tight end missed two of the last three games, and did not take part in last Sunday’s game.

“It’s been a season-long question with Rob Gronkowski, who’s really been week to week with back and ankle injuries. But keep in mind that after playing the Titans on Sunday, the Patriots have a bye, so if they rest Gronkowski this week, that would get him two weeks of rest for the price of one, but these issues have nagged at Gronkowski all year long. They continue to do the same,” Schefter explained on ESPN’s “Sunday Night Countdown.’
