Report: Sony Michel Gives Health Update After Bye Week

Sony Michel has recovered from his knee injury. He missed just two games in the season and returned to the field in Week 10. The first round rookie running back led the Patriots in rushing attempts, but mustered just 31 yards. It was a tough game for the Patriots offense.

The Patriots and Sony Michel needed their bye week before the big challenge. The team got back to work on Monday, and reporters asked the running back about the difference in his game now and at the beginning of the season.

Michel provided an encouraging update on his condition, adding that he feels much better and stronger.

“It’s two different times of the season. I feel better. I feel strong. It’s all about just finishing strong,” Michel said.

He said he was able to work on himself and improve some of the things he needed to improve. “It’s more of just trying to do more. Just work on certain things, my reads in the running back, blocking, all aspects of the games,” the running back said.

Michel had a strong game with the Patriots. He rushed for 452 yards and four touchdowns on 106 carries in the regular season. The running back has 100-plus yard rushing games and also had another rushing for 98 yards against the Colts in Week 5. Michel caught four passes out of the backfield for 31 yards.

Michel will be of great contribution for the team on Sunday as the Patriots will play against the New York Jets. New England’s opponents have allowed 119.5 rushing yards per-game on 4.2 yards per-carry. The Jets allowed nine rushing scores, and are ranked in the middle of the NFL’s ranking in terms of defense.

Michel’s return is more than brilliant for the Patriots. They are also looking forward to see Rex Burkhead on the field.
