Tom Brady Absent For The Start Of Friday Practice

The New England Patriots jumped on the field after their quick Thanksgiving break on Thursday. However, reporters could not spot Tom Brady at the start of the practice session, as reported by ESPN’s Mike Reiss. The info was confirmed by several others present at Gillette Stadium.

The quarterback was listed as a limited participant on Wednesday as he was still recovering from his knee injury. He injured himself while trying to catch a pass in the Patriots’ loss to the Tennessee Titans right before their bye week.

Missing Friday’s practice usually means that the player will not play in that week’s game. However, Reiss believes that Brady will suit up for Sunday’s game against the New York Jets. The absence from the quarterback could be a case where the Patriots are opting for treatment rather than practice reps. Was Brady having his knee treated at the facility or was he at the TB12 Sports Therapy Center at Patriot Place working out with his trainer Alex Guerrero.
Brady also missed the practice in Week 15 in 2015 due to an illness but he played in the game that week.

This may not be the best situation for everyone, but the Patriots are definitely careful when it comes to working out Brady. We will have a more concrete answer when the Patriots release their final injury report for this week.

Tight end Dwayne Allen is expected to be ruled out for Sunday’s game. He was absent on Friday as he is dealing with a knee injury. The tight end is expected to be sidelined for a few weeks. He will definitely not play at MetLife Stadium on Sunday.

Tight end Rob Gronkowski was limited in practice due to his injuries but he will return to the field on Sunday. We are also interested to see what will happen to Shaq Mason and Sony Michel.
