Tom Brady Comments On Chris Hogan’s Lack Of Production

Patriots wideout Chris Hogan tried really hard this season, and he was ready for a strong year. However, the New England Patriots did not benefit from the receiver, despite the fact that he played in highest amount of snaps among Patriots players.

The wideout hauled in zero catches in the past two games. Quarterback Tom Brady went on WEEI’s Kirk and Callahan, and talked about Hogan’s lack of production.

“He’s working his tail off. The fourth-down play at the end of the game when Logan Ryan knocked it over on Julian, Chris ran a great route and beat Malcolm. I had a chance to throw it down the sidelines, but I was kind of focused on Julian. There’s different times when he gets opportunities and he does a great job for us. Everyone has to get targets and looks. He hasn’t gotten as many as he would like. I have to figure out a way to get the ball to everybody, so that we can all make plays. When everyone is making plays, I think our offense is tough to stop. That will certainly be something we focus on and make sure everyone is getting looks that they deserve and go make the plays when we get them,” the quarterback said.

The quarterback also said that he is trying to locate a receiver that gets open.

“I think the reality is I am just trying to find the open guy. I am trying to throw the ball to the guy I think is going to be most open based on the play, and what we’re running, and what the defense has called. I don’t always do that. I certainly make mistakes in my reads. I am not thinking much about who is where. A lot of those things are gameplan and we are putting guys in certain positions based on situations. I am just letting coverage dictate where it goes. It’s not like we are throwing into triple coverage, we’re throwing into 1-on-1. Josh got some opportunity, Julian did. Chris [Hogan] didn’t get as many as he would like, but again, we just have to look at how things have looked the past few weeks and figure out how to get everyone more looks, more targets,” Brady added.
