Lakers In Shocking Trade Talks, LeBron James To Be Joined By This Star?

The Los Angeles Lakers like to stir things up a bit, and they are involved in another trade rumor. But, is this really a rumor?

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Lakers negotiate with the Phoenix Suns in an effort to trade for Trevor Ariza. Los Angeles is looking for a proven defender while retaining their cap flexibility in the offseason. Wojnarowski reported that the Lakers will need a third team to seal the deal.

The Suns are actually trying to “to land a playmaking guard and a draft asset as the price of unloading Ariza.”

The Lakers will probably add Kentavious Caldwell-Pope in their trade deal, and he may end up in a third team.
The 25-year-old Pope enjoys full veto power over a trade deal as provided by the contract he inked in the offseason.

“The Lakers have shown a willingness to work with his agent, Rich Paul, if there’s a deal that might increase his role and possibly get him signed to a deal this summer with a new team,” Wojnarowski noted.

NBA players signed in the offseason as free agents cannot be included into a trade deal until Saturday.

Ariza inked a one-year deal worth $15 million after playing five seasons in Houston. He has also played with the Los Angeles Lakers, and even won an NBA championships with the franchise in 2009.

The Suns are having one of their worst seasons as they are 4-22 at this point.

The Lakers have been included in almost every trade rumor so far. LeBron James and his teammates were linked to Kawhi Leonard, Bradley Beal and Anthony Davis.

Los Angeles is playing the Miami Heat at 3.30 am UK time (7.30 pm PT). This will be the last game of LeBron James and Dwyane Wade as the latter decided to retire.
