Watch: Bill Belichick Reveals His Thoughts On Patriots’ Last-Second Loss To Dolphins

The New England Patriots ran out of time during Sunday’s game against the Miami Dolphins. Time was their enemy, and the Patriots lost the game to the Dolphins. Many blame head coach Bill Belichick for the bad call, saying he has made one of the worst decisions in his professional career.

The Patriots did not have enough time at the end of the first half, and could not move things around at the right way. The Miami Dolphins won the contest in the final moments, and the Patriots were stabbed in the chest. Is Bill Belichick responsible for the loss?

New England had no timeouts left when quarterback Tom Brady took the snap on the final play of the first halftime. The quarterback was sacked instead of sending the football flying. Stephen Gostkowski could not kick a field goal, and the Patriots could have really used those three points.

“Time ran out on us. That’s obviously not what we were trying to do,” the head coach said.

His team faced the opposite problem at the end of the game. Belichick had his explanation on why tight end Rob Gronkowski was put on the field for the final play. Gronk’s presence was questioned, because Miami was out of Hail Mary range.

“Yeah, well they could throw it deeper. They could have run the Desperado-type play, which is kind of an in between 20-yard pass, then it turned into a Desperado,” Belichick added.

“Obviously, it’s a real disappointing ending for us today. There’s a lot of things we could have done better. It came down to one play, but there were a lot of things besides that. In the end, we’ve just got to do a better job than we did. Miami played hard like they always do and they just made one more play than we did,” the head coach added.
