Belichcik Finally Explains Call To Use Rob Gronkowski Vs. Dolphins

New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick took responsibility for the team’s loss to the Miami Dolphins. The last-second 69-yard touchdown destroyed New England’s chances of winning Sunday’s game. The head coach was blamed for the Patriots’ failure, and most experts do not understand the need to add tight end Rob Gronkowski in the last play of the game.

“It starts with me. We have to play better situational football. We’ll work to try to achieve that,” Belichick said Monday in his day-after-game conference call, as he fielded multiple questions on the breakdown,” Belichick said.

When asked why the tight end was added to the Hail Mary package, the head coach said, “It would be his ability to play the deep, long throw.”

The Miami Dolphins owned the football at their 31-yard line on the “deadly” play.

“It was a little too far to get to the end zone, but certainly a deep pass in that situation is a possibility. I wouldn’t rule that out,” Belichick said.

The Patriots head coach also said that he never thought of adding regular defensive package on the field instead of his Hail Mary unit.

“I think there were a lot of things that could have been better in the entire game. I think the game was a lot more than that play, but certainly that play wasn’t a good one for us,” he said.

The Patriots were 33-28 on Stephen Gostkowski’s field goal with just 16 seconds of the game. Bill Belichick explained there was a talk about going for it in that play, but “we felt the points to make it a touchdown, instead of a field goal game, that changes the whole thing.”

This is a sealed deal, and the Patriots will have to get over it. That’s how balls work. You never know the final score until the last second.
