Brady And Gronk Heroically Inspire Young Fan On Journey To Walk Again

Being confined to a wheelchair is one of the worst nightmares for every human being, and Aiden Kozak did not have the luck to enjoy his childhood. Aiden was diagnosed with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome, and now struggles to walk again. The world heard about the 12-year-old boy and his battle, and everyone was amazed to listen to his story. Aiden is a Patriots fan, and Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski are his greatest inspiration.

The young fan needed help to stand on his legs again. Gronk and Brady did an amazing gesture to help Aiden find inspiration and get well again. The players recorded messages to the New York boy. It was nice to know that his heroes are right behind the corner, helping him “survive” a year in the hospital.

Aiden used the help of crutches, and made it to the sidelines on Dec. 2. The New England Patriots were getting ready to confront the Minnesota Vikings, and Aiden yelled Gronk’s name.

“That’s his hero. Gronkowski, Brady, I think just seeing his face right now, you saw his reaction. He broke down right away. It’s more than just appreciation. It’s deeper than that for him, for us, and that’s speaking as a Jet fan myself,” said the boy’s father, John Kozak.

“It’s ironic. I opened up my Facebook page on the way here today in the car, and Gronk’s face popped up. It was a year ago today. How wild is that? This is fate. A year ago today, he could not stand. He couldn’t get dressed, couldn’t get in the car,” his mom Christine said.

Aiden held the sign, reading “Thanks 4 believing #12 and #87. Walking again,” and showed his respect for the Patriots.

“I was really happy. I was very surprised. It meant a lot.”

“This means everything to us. He’s battled what no person should ever have to go through, much less a 13-year-old. His inspiration is those players on the field right now, and it helped him get through his darkest hours. This is kind of us getting to the top of the mountain and appreciating how far he’s come. He still has some work to do. He’s not there yet, but this is going to give him the next push to get through his next phase of recovery,” John said.
