Bleacher Report Suggests Gronkowski Trade For Patriots

Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski was involved in a trade rumor this offseason, but he made sure everyone understands his willingness to play with his favorite guys. Gronkowski promised to stay with the team and play with quarterback Tom Brady. But, is there any chance that he joins the Green Bay Packers in 2019?

Brent Sobleski of Bleacher Report has eight trade suggestions for the upcoming offseason, and yes, he linked the Patriots tight end to the Packers. If New England trade Gronkowski, they will receive the Packers’ second and fourth-round picks in the 2019 draft.

“First, Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels appears to be the front-runner for the Green Bay Packers’ head coaching vacancy, according to OddsShark. And while Brady is the GOAT, Aaron Rodgers isn’t too shabby. Finally, the responsibility of being the focal point of the offense would no longer fall on Gronk’s shoulders. He and Jimmy Graham could form a devastating duo. Davante Adams is also a true No. 1 wide receiver,” Sobleski explained.

“The Patriots, on the other hand, frequently move veterans on the verge of their inevitable declines. Gronkowski will turn 30 in May, and his injury history is concerning. He’s also on pace to set career lows in receptions, yardage and touchdowns in seasons during which he’s made 10 or more appearances.”

Things will get a really interesting turn if the Packers hire McDaniels. According to latest reports, McDaniels is the top candidate to get this job. Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated talked to Colin Cowherd about the Packers and their next head coach, noting that McDaniels is the person to lead the team.

That would make some sense because they need somebody who can come in there and coach Aaron Rodgers. I know that sounds simple because he’s such a great player, but it’s actually kind of complicated. How do you challenge a guy like that? How do you come in and make him better on a day-to-day basis?” Breer said.

“There aren’t very many people on the planet who have experience doing that with that sort of player. Josh McDaniels actually does.”
