LeBron James Gives Blunt Response to the Kentavious Caldwell-Pope Trade Rumors

The Lakers were involved in so many rumors lately, and the last one involved the potential Kentavious Caldwell-Pope trade.

Several reports suggested that the Los Angeles Lakers could trade guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope as his one-year deal is expiring. When asked about this rumor, LeBron James gave a blunt response.

“It’s a business. If you get traded, that don’t mean your paycheck stops. It doesn’t matter, you’re still going to be in the NBA, just continue to get better and better. If you get traded it’s part of the business. It happens. I mean it sucks, that’s for sure, but it happens, so you just go about it,” LeBron said.

He went on talking about his Cavaliers teammate Kyle Korver who was shipped to the Jazz last month.

“My good friend Kyle Korver just got traded in his 16th year, so you think it’s hard for a younger guy. I think it’s harder for an older guy to do it. An older guy with family and kids, things of that nature, been in the same city for years and then you get traded? I think it’s harder for those guys than it is for the younger guys,” he said.

“While sources confirmed that there have been discussions about trading Caldwell-Pope, the legwork is being done on Caldwell-Pope’s side to find him a better situation,” Tania Ganguli wrote on the Caldwell-Pope trade.

So, maybe LeBron James is right. He knows pretty much everything about the deals in the league. He switched teams, and that’s business. It does not mean that you are kicked out or something. Some players are just a better fit for a different team. Maybe Caldwell-Pope should play in another team. Let’s see if the front office is ready to give up on him or other players on the squad.
