LeBron Recalls First Meeting With Michael Jordan Being ‘Godly’

Michael Jordan is one of the greatest legends in the league. He set the golden standard for many players in the league. What about Kobe Bryant and LeBron James? They sure did not wilt from all the comparisons and the high expectations.

LeBron James is now trying to bring the Los Angeles Lakers back on track. He is trying to make them contenders. The veteran player is also trying to add more titles to his awesome résumé. There is an on-going debate regarding the greatest player of all time, and LeBron always mentions Bryant and Michael Jordan. King James has nothing but a huge admiration for the legend, and viewed LeBron as a role model. LeBron met Jordan when he was a high school student and long before becoming a star.

Before the Lakers’ game against the Charlotte Hornets, LeBron talked about his very first meeting with the legend.

It was godly. I’ve said that over and over before, but it was like meeting God for the first time. That’s what I felt like as a 16-year-old kid when I met MJ,” he said.

“Any time I’m even mentioned with the greats that played this game and guys before me who laid the path, laid the grounds in this work and allowed me to be in this position, it’s always humbling and gratifying for my city. Just knowing where I come from, some of you guys know where I come from that’s been there and some of you guys haven’t, but where I come from, there’s not many of us. It’s very limited. It’s very, very limited inspirations. Very limited resources. Very limited everything. So for me to be in this position where I’m at today, it’s just a blessing,” LeBron said of his rise.

So,yes, LeBron is more than proud of himself for coming this far and even  matching his success.
