Julian Edelman Broke His Silence After Terrible Game Vs. Steelers

The New England Patriots’ defense did their job and pressed the Pittsburgh Steelers’ offense to 17 points and 376. The defense struggled to defend the run and allowed 142 yards on 19 carries to Steelers running back Jaylen Samuels. However, they also kept the team’soffense on the field, limiting quarterback Ben Roethlisberger to 235 yards, a couple of touchdowns and two interceptions, wide receiver Antonio Brown to four catches for 49 with a score and wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster to four catches for 40 yards.

The offense had penalties throughout the game and had just 10 points and 368 yards.

Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman was flagged twice in the game, and led the Patriots with seven catches for 90 yards. He feels the team’s offense let the defense down.

“Without a doubt. They held a good team to 17. We hold ourselves to a high standard, but we got outplayed today. We put ourselves in situations that we couldn’t pull ourselves out of. We’ve got to start over — I don’t know about start over — but we’ve got to just turn the page and work hard and go out and have a good week of practice,” Edelman said.

Tight end Rob Gronkowski put the whole thing in another package.

“We’ve just got to keep working hard. We’ve got to put up points whenever we have the opportunity to whenever we’re in the red zone. It’s a team game. No matter what happens on either side, we’re all in it together. We’re all in it with each other,” he said.

The team’s offense was unpredictable and inconsistent in the season, pretty much the same like the defense. They struggled really hard to play with Edelman, Gronkowski, Josh Gordon, James White, Rex Burkhead, and Sony Michel. They were much better at home.
