Report: Patriots Week 16 Game Ball Handed Out

The 2018 NFL season will soon end, and Week 16 was really hot for some teams while others struggled to stay in shape.

Week 16 was of great importance for the Patriots, as they managed to survive and even hit the top.

The Philadelphia Eagles are the only squad to stay alive in the NFC at just half a game behind Minnesota. The Steelers, Colts and Titans have an opportunity to clinch the AFC Wild Card spot. The Titans are playing the Colts in Week 17, but were not really able to defeat the team with Andrew Luck at starting quarterback position.

“The Patriots were able to dominate the Bills on the ground in their division clinching win and it was largely thanks to the legs of Sony Michel. The Patriots rookie back was able to rush for 116 yards on 6.4 yards per-carry to go a long with a score. That was just part of New England’s 273-yard day on the ground, which helped them secure their tenth straight AFC East title,” Tyler Sullivan said of the game.

Head coach Bill Belichick was also proud of his guys.

“Well, always a great feeling to win the division. You have to give our players a lot of credit. It’s been a tough couple of weeks but they responded with a great week of preparation. I thought we played hard today against Buffalo that also played tough like they always do. They’re a well-coached team and they really make you work for everything. In the end, we were able to make enough plays in all three phases of the game. I thought our punt and punt return teams gave us a lot of good field position plays throughout the course of the game. Then we were able to run the ball fairly consistently, play pretty good defense. Those are all good things. It’s good to win, good to know that our season is going to extend a little bit here. It’s a good way to celebrate Christmas and then obviously be ready to go against the Jets. I mean, we know that’ll be difficult, too. That game will have some important meaning for us and them, so we’ll have to have a good week there. It’s good to enjoy this one for a day or so,” he said.
