Report: Julian Edelman Reportedly Fined More Than $60,000 After Game Vs. Bills

Patriots receiver Julian Edelman ran out of luck. It seems like the receiver cannot focus on the game and keeps making mistakes. First, he was suspended for the first four games of the regular season, and now he is fined.

Edelman is fined more thank $60,000 for three separate plays in the game against the Buffalo Bills. ESPN’s Mike Reiss confirmed that the receiver is fined $10,026 for unnecessary roughness on one play, and also earned himself two separate fines of $266,739 for unnecessary roughness on two other plays.

“Costly day for Patriots WR Julian Edelman last Sunday vs. Bills, as he was fined for three separate plays — $10,026 for unnecessary roughness, $26,739 for unnecessary roughness & $26,739 for unnecessary roughness ($63,504 total),” Reiss reported.

So, this makes about $63,504 over three plays. We believe Edelman does not really like this. But, he probably got used to this. The receiver was already fined for unnecessary roughness in 2018, and he has already been fined in games against the Buffalo Bills.

The Patriots receiver was fined for unnecessary roughness after the team’s Monday night matchup against Buffalo earlier in the year, and earned himself a $26,739 fine for a hit on cornerback Lafayette Pitts.

Edelman was not the only NFL person to be fined.

Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield was fined $10,026 for a lewd gesture during the touchdown celebration on the sidelines.

New York Jets head coach Todd Bowles was fined $25,000 for criticizing officials in levies. The head coach said he “thought we were playing two teams” after New York was flagged 16 times for a team-record 172 yards in the 44-38 overtime loss to the Green Bay Packers.

Houston Texans defensive end Jadeveon Clowney was fined $40,110 for punching Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles late and grabbing the facemask he was having on.
