Bill Belichick Downplays Impact Of Home-Field Advantage With New O-Lineman

The New England Patriots do not even look like the team we admired long ago. The team is 6-0 at home and 5 on the road. They defeated some of the greatest NFL teams such as the Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts and Kansas City Chiefs at Gillette Stadium. However, they do lost the game to the Jacksonville Jaguars and Detroit Lions. New England will probably play far away from hone this postseason unless they get really lucky in the next few weeks and the playoffs. Patriots head coach Bill Belichick talked about the team’s home games.

When asked about their advantages at home, Belichick gave the best response.

“Yeah, I think playing well creates an advantage.” Can you argue with this one?

Every Patriot was on the field for the Wednesday’s session, and reporters caught a new offensive lineman.

There was this unidentified player sporting No. 72. The player took over the practice squad spot that was taken by offensive tackle Eric Smith who joined the New York Jets on Tuesday.

“Perfect attendance again at Patriots practice today, including an unidentifiable new practice squad tackle (No. 72). He replaces Eric Smith, who signed with the Jets yesterday,” Zack Cox tweeted.

New England had perfect attendance at the practice last week before the 17-10 loss to the Steelers. The team is hosting the Buffalo Bills on Sunday for the second-to-last contest of the regular season.

The loss to Pittsburgh put the 9-5 team to third place in the AFC run, and that’s just a game behind the Houston Texans. If they are interested in leapfrogging the Texans and securing a first-round playoff bye for the ninth consecutive season, the Patriots will have to win our and have the Texans lose at least one of their last couple of games.

The Pats defeated Buffalo 25-6 on the road in Week 8.
