Bill Belichick Reacts To Tom Brady Confirming He’ll Play In 2019, Beyond

Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is positive about playing in 2019 and beyond. What does head coach Bill Belichick think about this?

The quarterback talked to Jim Gray of Westwood One and said he will return in 2019 and play beyond that season. It’s not like we thought that Brady would retire, but his performance and that knee injury sure got us confused. Tom Brady is ready to give his best. As usual.

“I absolutely believe I will. I know I’ve talked about it for a long time: I have goals to not only play next year, but beyond that. I’m going to try to do it as best I possibly can. I’m going to give it everything I have, like I always have. It will certainly be a challenge. I don’t take any of these things for granted, but I hope I can keep playing, and I hope I can keep playing at a championship level,” Brady said.

Reporters asked head coach Belichick about the quarterback’s plans for the next few seasons. Belichick focused on the current situation of the team and the upcoming match against the New York Jets.

“Yeah, well, I mean, right now I think it’s a one-game season here. So, we’ll just concentrate on the Jets and worry about next year, next year, worry about next week, next week, worry about last year some other year,” the head coach said.

Belichick is actually playing smart here. He wants the players focused on the game and the playoffs. But, what if Brady decides to leave? The Patriots better have a succession plan. Just in case. There is a nice bunch of players coming our way, and the Patriots should also focus on the 2019 NFL Draft. Who is the next player to take Brady’s place? Who is the next GOAT?
