Bill Belichick Releases Surprising Statement On Rob Gronkowski’s Season With Patriots

Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski does not have the best numbers this season, but head coach Bill Belichick is not even worried about statistics.

The tight end missed four games in the regular season due to a nagging injury. He marked 45 receptions and three touchdowns. Gronk’s touchdown count keeps dropping, and experts say he has not had a double-digit year since 2010. Once again, Belichick does not stress over numbers or statistics. Gronkowski has enough time to work on those numbers though.

“What shows up for us on the stat sheet is wins and losses… Rob’s a great team player,” Belichick said.

Gronkowski was part of almost every injury report, but did manage to suit up for the most important games. He played with his teammates against the Buffalo Bills, but had no catch in the 24-12 win against opponents.

Nothing beats the fact that Gronk has a dominant game on the field.

“Well, there’s no question that he’s an extremely tough guy. I think we have a lot of those guys on our team and Gronkowski’s certainly one of the tougher ones in the league at that position. I think because of his size and where he usually catches the football, which is in between the numbers, there’s a lot of bodies that eventually come downhill towards him and have an opportunity to make a decision how they want to try to tackle him. Most of those people usually go low, they could choose to do some other thing, but a lot of times they go low because of how big he is and the concept of trying to tackle him high generally isn’t high on everybody’s wish list,” New England Patriots offensive coordinator McDaniels said of Gronk.

Hopefully, Gronk will find a way to improve his numbers and contribute to the game.
