Chris Hogan Releases Huge Statement About The Relationship With Tom Brady

Chris Hogan was looked to be one of the key figures in the New England Patriots passing game heading into the 2018 season, but with one game remaining in the regular season, that simply just hasn’t been the case for the receiver.

Things did appear to boil over for Hogan in that game as he was seen being pretty demonstrative on the sideline, slamming his helmet on the turf and even sat away from the rest of the receivers. After that AFC East clinching win, Hogan downplayed that sideline seating arrangement chalking it up to superstition. When asked again on Wednesday about his rapport with Tom Brady, Hogan said he “absolutely” believes it’s still strong.

“I think you’re just being a competitor,” Hogan told reporters when asked if he’d like the ball more, via NESN.com. “You want to go out there and do what’s best for the team and help your team move the ball down the field, make plays and help them win football games. It’s all about opportunities in this league, and when you get the opportunities in this league, you just have to make the most of them.”

While Chris Hogan hasn’t seen as much opportunity as he’s had in previous seasons with the Patriots, his role could increase in the regular season finale against the Jets and moving forward into the playoffs. With Josh Gordon now suspended from the NFL indefinitely, there are targets up for grabs for Hogan and the other pass catches to get from Tom Brady.

“Because of what we’ve done in the past, how hard we’ve worked on the passing game and obviously the guy who’s leading us with the ball,” Hogan said. “We have all the faith in the world in him.
