Lakers Backed To Partner LeBron James With Carmelo Anthony On One Condition

There is still a chance that Carmelo Anthony joins the Los Angeles Lakers. However, there is also one condition for this to happen.

Well, that’s what former NBA Champion Dahntay Jones says. Carmelo Anthony’s contract with the Houston Rockets will be brought to an end over the weekend.

His value was depreciated in the past two years, and Carmelo did not really play well for Oklahoma City Thunder.

Carmelo is ready to join a new team, and LeBron James fueled the fire regarding his pal’s arrival in Los Angeles after saying he is open to the idea of playing alongside Anthony.

Carmelo and LeBron entered the league at the same time, but their career developed in a different way. LeBron has three rings, and the 34-year-old is considered “damaged goods” after his rapid decline. This does not beat the fact that he has a brilliant talent.

Jones won his championship alongside LeBron James, and talked about this.

“Was the Houston Rockets a good fit for him? No. Was OKC a good fit for him? No. That does not mean he is a bad basketball player, or not great, or not an all-time great. He needs to be in the right situation for him. Is the Lakers the right situation for him? No, not right now,” he said.

Jones also noted that Carmelo can be a right fit for the Lakers once they fix the damage on their roster.

“But I’m a proponent of the fact that the Lakers team you see right now won’t be the Lakers team you see at the end of the year, and going into the play-offs. And the Lakers team that wins a championship, eventually, won’t be the one you see right now so I think there’s a point in time where he will be a fit. But now my advice is to be a little patient right now with him because find the right spot to continue your legacy because you’re great, you’re an all-time great, you still have much to give to the game of basketball. But it’s in the right place at the right time, rather than just on any team,” Jones said.
