LeBron James and Lakers Hit With Warriors Blow Over Anthony Davis’ Trade

Anthony Davis was part of almost every Lakers-trade rumor in the past couple of months. things got hotter at the very same moment fans realized that LeBron James and Davis are interested in playing together. However, latest reports suggest that Davis does not even think of leaving his current team despite the fact that the Golden State Warriors are roaming around him.

Davis will be given an opportunity to sign a supermax contract extension with the team this summer, and that will sure clear his future. The Lakers are still trying to land him in Los Angeles and pair Davis with LeBron for some added depth. But, Magic Johnson will not be able to ink a deal with Davis, and neither will the Warriors.

The Lakers tried to catch Trevor Ariza, but failed. When it comes to Davis, he can reach great heights in Los Angeles, but ESPN’s Zach Lowe says he has no intention of leaving the Pelicans.

“Whatever is happening between Davis and the Pelicans is only a little about market size. Davis has not yet told those close to him that he is dead set on the Lakers or any other specific team should he decide to leave, according to a source familiar with his thinking. He does not appear ready to demand a trade. All of that could, of course, change at any moment.”

Lowe also reported that the Warriors are challenging the Lakers when it comes to signing Davis.

Klay Thompson and Kevin Durant will probably leave the team, and the Lakers need another big name. Is Davis the man to get in?

“The Warriors have been publicly linked to Davis before — and would surely be interested, sources say — but it’s hard to find a realistic path ahead of next season. They aren’t trading Curry or Durant for him; Durant is a free agent anyway. Draymond Green probably isn’t enticing enough as a centerpiece considering what little else the Warriors have in draft picks and young players. Klay Thompson is a free agent too, and it seems unlikely he would agree to a sign-and-trade sending him to New Orleans.”
