LeBron James Explains What Led To Interest In Signing JaVale McGee

The Los Angeles Lakers signed LeBron James earlier this summer, and JaVale McGee was the next on their list.

The Lakers signed McGee, and many said he is not enough to strengthen the active roster. However, they were wrong, as the NBA champion became an important figure on the basketball court. McGee has 2.6 blocks per game, and that’s actually great for the NBA.

The champion is the second-best player for the Los Angeles Lakers right behind LeBron James. Lakers director of basketball operations Magic Johnson and general manager Rob Pelinka have great plans for the awesome player.

The arrival of LeBron sealed the deal for several other players. He made sure the front office signs Rajon Rondo, Lance Stephenson and JaVale McGee. They came to Los Angeles just because of LeBron’s attitude.

LeBron James talked about his new teammate, and he was more than thrilled to play alongside him.

I played against him in the last two NBA Finals and I wanted him on this team because I know what he brings. It’s his energy, his energy level, his ability at the rim and his ability to protect the rim. If you don’t have that on your team, you’re not going to have much, man. You need to have people with a high IQ, which he’s got. That’s why I wanted JaVale to be part of this,” LeBron said. It is no longer a secret that the king lobbied the Lakers to get the champion.

LeBron’s efforts to get McGee is just a proof that he has an excellent basketball IQ. McGee had a really good game with the Golden State Warriors, and his game alongside LeBron James brought his value even higher. The champion signed a one-year deal with the team, but there is a great chance that he gets a contract for the next campaign, too.
