New England Patriots Players Reveal Their Custom My Cause, My Cleats

This week NFL fans will get the opportunity to take a look inside their favorite players’ private lives. Week 13 in the league is My Cause, My Cleats. It is an initiative that supports players to wear their custom cleats and raise awareness to the charity or cause they stand for.

The custom cleats are more than brilliant, and you will fell in love with their goal.

“The cause I’m wearing on my cleats is Best Buddies. It represents this organization that I’ve been working with for a long time. We do an annual fundraiser, a football game and a ride in Hyannis Port in the summertime. I love it. I know it impacts a lot of people not only in this community, but around the world. I’m very proud to be representing my cleats for this really great occasion,” Patriots quarterback Tom Brady said.

“My Cause, My Cleats is single parent homes. It’s important to me growing up in a single parent home. I’ve seen the trials and tribulations that my mom went through for me and my sister, the sacrifices she made. Being that one rock, having to do so much, it’s definitely a lot of toll to be put on one [set of] shoulders. I call my mom Mamma Bear and she calls me Little Bear. I’m definitely going to let my [cleat designer] do his thing, but definitely want to be able to get Momma Bear on there somewhere so that’s for Mamma Bear,” Dont’a Hightower said.

“I chose International Justice Mission because a few years ago my wife and I were at a conference called PAO. We heard a presentation about IJM and we learned a lot about how people are enslaved against their will, particularly women and children who are victims of sex slavery. What this organization does is it identifies where these people are being held captive and goes in and tries to rescue those people. Ultimately, their goal is to end this slavery all together,” Matthew Slater said.
