Patriots Surprise Children’s Hospital Patient With Heartwarming Gift

The Patriots visited the Boston Children’s Hospital with a huge gift bag in their hands with one simple goal. The team delivered one patient’s creation: a very special Patriots hat that will be available at ProShop.

Jose DeJesus Jr.designed a red, white and blue beanie with a pom sprinkled with yellow, red,white, and blue. The Patriots flying Elvis logo is placed on the front fold of the hat, and it is gorgeously outlined in yellow. Jose was the lucky one to have the first piece delivered by Elandon Roberts, Joe Thuney, Eric Smith and Adrian Clayborn.

Jose was more than happy to see the Patriots, and he could not hold the urge to peak through the blinds of his window. He was just trying to catch a glimpse.

The guys talked about video games and football with the kid, and then came the moment to deliver their gift. Jose grabbed the hat from Eric’s hat and rushed to put it on his head.

“I don’t think I’ve ever seen a kid put on a hat that fast. I mean he took pride in his creation and he’s going to stay warm from it. He’s going to be able to see multiple fans wear this hat. Being that he’s the first one to wear his product, it was just pure excitement and pure enjoyment,” Eric said.

The guys also talked to Jose’s father, and Jose Sr. could not believe that his son was such a huge fan. When he spotted the Patriots sign in the gift bag, he rushed from his room to get tape and hang it up on the wall.

“He’s very excited. But he is grateful and he is doing well. But on his behalf, he’s happy to design a New England Patriots hat for them,” Jose’s father said.

The Patriots enjoyed spending time with the patients.

“You could just see a side of Jose that even probably the staff members probably haven’t seen in a while here. It just takes you second to be like ‘Wow,the position that we’re in to be able to come and brighten these kids’ days,it’s really a blessing,” Elandon said.
