Report: Two Major Lakers Stars Will Not Travel With Team To Sacremento

The Los Angeles Lakers are confronting the Sacramento Kings without two major stars.

Latest reports confirm that Rajon Rondo and LeBron James will not travel with the teammates, as confirmed by the team on Wednesday.

LeBron James is dealing with a groin strain at the moment, and he was listed as day-to-day. Rajon Rondo has a right ring finger strain, and it’s actually a Grade 3 sprain, as reported by Lakers sideline reporter Mike Trudell. The veteran will be re-evaluated on Friday, but he is definitely missing the game against the Sacramento Kings.

The Lakers will not be as successful as they used to be with King James. Playing without LeBron and Rondo is one of the worst scenarios that can happen, and head coach Luke Walton better think of an alternative. This season, LeBron and Rondo average a combined 13.8 assists per game, and are added to the top 15 players in the NBA in assists per game.

Head coach Walton is concerned about the offense, and now they get to play without two important players. Walton will have to work on any adjustment. Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram and Kyle Kuzma will also have to play harder and step up.

Walton will also have to look for playmaking somewhere else, and that’s easier said than done. Who will be added to the game? Ball, Ingram and Kuzma are not enough, and there is hardly someone that can make up for the strength of LeBron and Rondo.

Lance Stephenson can step in and contribute to the team. However, we cannot really predict what he can bring. Svi Mykhailiuk will also get some playing time off the bench, and he is definitely a player Walton should focus on.

There are so many formulas and combinations, and Walton will have to make the perfect match on the court.
