Watch: How Patriots Celebrated After Winning AFC East

The New England Patriots are the AFC East champions for the tenth season in a row. The team had a decent celebration in the locker room, and everyone was so happy to receive such an amazing early Christmas gift. Those divisional champions hat and t-shirt are amazing!

Head coach Bill Belichick congratulated the team on the excellent running performance. “Ok fellas, that’s the way to show up and be physical. I mean, out-rushed by a couple hundred yards, had almost 300 so that’s the way to run the football. Good job of stopping the run and played pretty good team football here today. AFC East champs. Congratulations,” he told the AFC East champions.

Jason McCourty is part of a division winning team that is making its way to the playoffs for the first time.

“I am excited about that. Matt Slater said it to us at the end of the game that there is a lot more to our story but you do not take any moment for granted. It took me ten years to be able to say that I have won my division and you put a hat and shirt on,” McCourty said.

Belichick talked to reporters, and commended the guys for winning the division.

“Well, always a great feeling to win the division. You have to give our players a lot of credit. It’s been a tough couple of weeks but they responded with a great week of preparation. I thought we played hard [Sunday] against Buffalo that also played tough like they always do. They’re a well-coached team and they really make you work for everything. In the end, we were able to make enough plays in all three phases of the game. I thought our punt and punt return teams gave us a lot of good field position plays throughout the course of the game. Then we were able to run the ball fairly consistently, play pretty good defense. Those are all good things. It’s good to win, good to know that our season is going to extend a little bit here.”
