The Patriots Restructured Tom Brady’s Contract Before The Season

Patriots quarterback Tom Brady did not have his best season, and this sure costs him. Before the season, the Patriots reworked Brady’s contract.

The organization changed Brady’s signing bonus and base salary, and the quarterback was given $10 million upfront, with a $4 million base salary. The key move related to this contract was giving $5 million in incentives if Brady manages to have enough passing yards, yards per attempt, touchdowns, completion percentage and passer rating.

The quarterback did not get those numbers this season, and missed his $5 million. Brady will get a total of $15 million for 2018, and that’s pretty low for such a great quarterback.

The GOAT finished the season with 4,355 yards which makes him 7th in the NFL. Brady also has 29 touchdowns, and ended up being 10th in this category, while having 65.8 completion (18th). The TB12 has 7.6 yards per attempt (14th) and has 97.7 passer rating (12th).

At the time of the restructure, the New England Patriots sort of gave Brady a hint of his future. Brady will play in 2019, but the incentives show that the team wanted him to prove that he can still play like an awesome player.

Tom Brady led the Patriots to their 11-5 record, and the team got its first-round bye. There was a significant decline in his performance, and his numbers are lower than usual. Is this the first sign of Brady’s aging? Many say that he will have to go in near future, but the quarterback said he is ready to play until he is 45. Will the quarterback stay on the field for a few more years?

Let’s not forget that Brady was also added to the injury report, and it was enough for haters to start talking how he plays on one leg. Is that true?
