Report: Josh McDaniels Makes Decision On Interview Request

Josh McDaniels has been making headlines these days as he was linked to several teams in the league. It is no longer a secret that McDaniels is interested in taking a head-coaching position, but it seems like the Patriots offensive coordinator is not willing to accept every offer that comes his way.

Several teams showed their interested in McDaniels and his coaching talent, including the Cincinnati Bengals. The team fired Marvin Lewis, and thought that McDaniels was the right person to fill that position.

Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network reported that McDaniels decided to pass on that interview request. “If you’re wondering when Josh McDaniels’ interview with the #Bengals is happening, it apparently won’t. Source says McDaniels is passing on Cincy’s request.”

McDaniels will be super picky if he decides to become a head coach. The Bengals are not too attractive for the offensive coordinator. Let’s not forget that McDaniels is viewed as a top coaching candidate.

The Green Bay Packers are also interested in him. Aaron Rodgers is there, and honestly, the Bengals cannot provide that.

Maybe McDaniels is not interested in leaving the Patriots at the moment. I don’t really worry about the future. Honestly, each week is a tremendous challenge. We try to stay in the moment and focus on the task at hand, which this week is obviously considerable considering that we haven’t had a lot of success down there. This is a big challenge for us. I didn’t do nearly well enough in my role and my job last year when we went down there to Miami (a 27-20 Patriots loss), so there’s a lot for us to look at and a great defense for us to go down there and face, where they play extremely well at home,” he said a month ago.

Let’s see how will things turn for Josh McDaniels.
