Michael Jordan Makes Bombshell Admission About Not Being The Greatest Of All-Time

We have been reading a lot about the greatest basketball player of all-time, and fans popped up a few suggestions. Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Kobe Bryant…

However, one thing stands for sure: Michael Jordan does not want to be called the GOAT. We got to watch this video interview from 2009. In the interview, Michael Wilbon asked Jordan if he considers himself the “greatest basketball player ever,” the legend said he does not want that title.

“I don’t want it in a sense because I think it disrespects Wilt Chamberlain, Jerry West — you know all the guys that prior to me I never had a chance to play against. What everybody is saying I am, I never had the chance to compete against other legends that was prior to me. When I hear it, I cringe a little bit because it’s a little bit embarrassing because no one knows. I never had the chance to, once again, to play against those guys. I would love to have played against them but I never did. And for you to say that I’m better than him … I mean it’s your opinion; it’s their opinion. I accept that as their opinion. If you ask me, I would never say that I am the greatest player. That’s because I never played against all the people that represented the league prior to Michael Jordan,” he said.

It is interesting to watch this video, because most of the GOAT debate develops around LeBron James and Michael Jordan. They did not even play together, because Jordan left the court in 2003, and King James entered it in the same year.

LeBron went on ESPN’s “More Than An Athlete,” and talked how the championship he won with the Cleveland Cavaliers made him the greatest player of all times. LeBron did not say a word about Jordan.
