Report: New Update Comes In About Josh McDaniels’ Future With Patriots

Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels has been making headlines in the past couple of months.

The Green Bay Packers and Cleveland Browns are just two of the teams that were interested in Josh McDaniels and his head-coaching talent. The teams hoped to get the offensive coordinator to lead their team. The Packers are the only team to has had an interview with McDaniels. However, it seems like they will offer the vacant position to former Tennessee Titans offensive coordinator Matt LaFleur, as reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter. In other words, Josh McDaniels will stay with the Patriots for a while.

Are the Cleveland Browns still looking for another option? Are they still interested in McDaniels’ service? Well, the team has not requested an interview with the offensive coordinator. They are not even able to do that now. The Browns will have to look until the season ends.

Nothing beats the fact that there is interest on both sides. McDaniels seemed to be “enthusiastically interested” to accept Cleveland’s potential offer. The Browns even noted to have used “back channels to indicate mutual preliminary interest.”

If McDaniels stays in Foxboro, the Kliff Kingsbury will be brought to an end.

“With Kliff, I played with Kliff and we have been friends ever since. I see him from time-to-time. Danny [Amendola] keeps in touch with him. He’s been a friend of mine for a long time. Kliff has done a great job at Texas Tech and I know he’s at USC, but it doesn’t surprise me that a lot of teams are interested. He’s just a great football mind and will be successful wherever he’s at,” quarterback Tom Brady said of Kliff during his appearance on WEEI’s Mut & Callahan.

Well, the only thing we can do at the moment is just wait and see what happens next.
