Weather Forecast In For Patriots Vs. Chargers

The New England Patriots and Los Angeles Chargers are playing their AFC Divisional Round game on Sunday, and the weather forecast does not really go in favor of LA players.

The weather forecast as of Monday suggests there will be snow in the Foxboro area. What about the temperatures? It will be freezing. If this forecast is right, the Patriots will have more luck than their opponents. The Chargers will travel across the country and play in snow. Yes, it is bad. This may be of great help for New England, but head coach Bill Belichick does not really pay attention to that.

“I usually don’t worry too much about the forecast until the day of the game because it is pretty hard to get that right. We’ll see what happens,” the head coach said during his appearance on WEEI’s Ordway, Merloni and Fauria on Monday.

The referee assignment also goes in favor of the Patriots. Referee Ron Torbert is overseeing this game. he has called four Patriots contests since 2014, and the team is 4-0. In the AFC Divisional Round win for the Patriots over the Tennessee Titans last season, Torbert’s team called 14 total penalties for 99 yards.

“This is obviously a great football team that has played well on the road all year and it is going to be our biggest challenge in all phases, there’s no doubt about that,” Tom Brady said of the upcoming match.

“They are committed at all levels. They have great pass rushers in [Joey] Bosa and [Melvin] Ingram. They are stout against the run, [Brandon] Mebane, being one of the best run defenders we’ve ever played against. Again, I think their scheme presents some problems because they have a lot of team speed. They have a lot of those smaller guys playing at the linebacker level and then they’ve got a great secondary. Hayward is a great player. [Jahleel] Addae and [Adrian] Phillips, Derwin James has had an incredible season as a rookie. It’s a very good team. They are good on special teams, and obviously on offense. They can keep up with any offense in the league. We’re going to have to be able to have a great complementary game. There’s no one phase of our team that is going to be able to carry us. It is going to take every player, every coach on the roster to pull this one out.”
