New England Patriots Embracing Idea Of Snowy Divisional Round Game

The New England Patriots have the perfect welcome for the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday, as the weather forecast predicts snow for the Divisional Round game.

The Patriots will be playing in a winter wonderland on Sunday as they open the Gillette Stadium for the AFC Divisional Round match. According to the weather forecast, people in Foxboro will see 3-5 inches of snow on Sunday. The Chargers will have to play in weather conditions that are not really common for their area. They are not quite used to playing in below freezing temperatures.

The Chargers may not be thrilled about the winder wonderland, but the Patriots are absolutely excited to play the Divisional Round game in snow.

The Patriots are excited about the snow

“We’ve been waiting for a snow game. Obviously if it’s a snowstorm it’s going to be different. If it’s not, it’s kind of like light rain. It doesn’t really matter. Whatever we get, we’ll be ready to play,” Patriots receiver Phillip Dorsett said, as reported by Andrew Callahan of MassLive.com.

Snow conditions work in favor of the defensive side of the ball, and pass rusher Deatrich Wise Jr. has a special feelings for that one.

“I love playing in elements. The clear sky, it’s alright, it’s OK. It’s football weather, I guess,” Wise noted. “But all the legendary games when I watched football when I was young, it was on grass and it was muddy; watching highlights of cats like Deacon Jones, Reggie White, all them guys and their jerseys just full of mud.”

The Chargers will confront the weather factor and the referee is not their “best friend.” Ron Torbert will be overseeing the match on Sunday, and some say that the Patriots could win just because of him.

However, we know that the Patriots are more than capable of winning the AFC Divisional Round game.
