Report: Brandon Ingram Likely To Be Traded For All-Star Player

The Los Angeles Lakers tried to pain Brandon Ingram as an untouchable player on their roster. However, it seems like the team is ready to part ways with their young player in order to sign an All-Star player.

Brandon Ingram is one of the team’s three consecutive second overall picks in the NBA Draft. Lakers president of basketball operations Magic Johnson and general manager Rob Pelinka became part of the team. D’Angelo Russell was the first to go, and many said that Ingram was the next to go. However, Johnson said that Ingram was actually “untouchable.” Well, he should have said almost untouchable. That fits better, especially when it comes to signing an All-Star player.

It is time to say ‘goodbye’

The Lakers front office may be planning to trade Ingram. That’s what several NBA execs say. Bleacher Report’s Eric Pincus says that Ingram will probably be included in a trade deal thar targets an All-Star player.

“Ingram will probably be traded at some point, whether it’s for a second or third star,” an NBA front-office executive said.

Who will be flying to LA? Some say it will be New Orleans Pelicans star Anthony Davis. The player has been linked with the Lakers for quite some time. Things got heated up at the very same moment he signed with LeBron’s agent, Rich Paul.

The Pelicans did not say anything about Davis, but if they miss the playoffs, Davis will try to force a trade deal.

Davis has been part of the Pelicans for seven years, and the team made the playoffs twice. They got past the first round in one single occasion.

If the New Orleans misses the playoffs and Davis requests a trade, the Lakers will have to part ways with at least two young players. Brandon Ingram, Kyle Kuzma, Lonzo Ball and Josh Hart belong to that group.
