NFL Media Reacts To Patriots Win Over Chargers

It is time to book some tickets to Kansas City. The New England Patriots won the AFC Divisional Round game today, and the win was more than magnificent. New England is headed to the AFC Championship Game for the ninth season in a row. The Patriots are playing the Kansas City Chiefs next week. Let’s not forget that the Patriots have already defeated the Chiefs in the regular season.

The team has an undefeated playoff record against Andy Reid. The whole thing develops in the right way for Tom Brady and the rest of the guys. They played more than great today, and this win is making history.

The Chargers scored most of their points during garbage time. The Patriots were leading 35-7 at halftime. If they kept at the same pace, the Patriots would have scored at least 70 points. New England players had enough time to rest and get ready for the playoff run.

Brady hit a new record

“Press box announcement: Tom Brady has now thrown 227 straight passes without an interception in the postseason, a new NFL record,” Ryan Hannable tweeted.

We are used to seeing Brady hit a new record in every game he plays in. We also know that he plays his best football in the postseason. The ultimate quarterback threw more consecutive passes without an interception in the playoffs than other passers.

Receiver Julian Edelman played his first playoff game since Super Bowl 52, but he was more than successful. Edelman shut down the Chargers defense while making history.

The Patriots were super healthy and struck first. Sony Michel was the first to score a touchdown in the game, and brought his teammates to a 7-0 lead.

The team managed to take the lead back with Michel’s 14-yard run in the end zone. The Patriots had a 14-7 lead.
