New England Patriots Bring On Wednesday Injury Report For AFC Championship

The New England Patriots had their practice session on Wednesday as they are getting ready for their eighth consecutive AFC Championship. The good news is that every player was accounted for in practice as they practice for Kansas City.

Deatrich Wise was the only player on the injury report due to his ankle injury. He also missed the AFC Divisional Round against the Kansas City Chiefs. However, he was a full participant on Wednesday’s session, meaning he will probably suit up for the AFC Championship game.

Bill Belichick is ready for the AFC Championship

“Well, surely a combination of training, which as an athlete, training to prepare for the competition and a certain element of recovery or treatment to deal with things that are less than 100 percent but need to try to be treated and dealt with so that we can be as close to 100 percent as possible,” head coach Bill Belichick said of the team’s health on Tuesday. “Collectively, there’s a lot of people involved in that process but ultimately that’s what you try to do, is train the healthy players to be able to compete at a high level for a sustained period of time and rest, rehabilitate and recover the athletes that need that so that they can eventually train at full capacity to be able to train for the high competition.”

When it comes to being the AFC Championship, Belichick could not hide his excitement.

“It’s always an honor to play in this game and compete for an AFC Championship,” Belichick said during his press conference. “I’m really proud of what our staff and team have done to get to this point. Obviously, it’s a very strenuous competition. So, to be here and to be one of the final four teams playing this weekend is a great privilege. We embrace it and we’re willing to jump in here with our best competitive effort, week of preparation and be ready to go against a great football team. Andy [Reid], who I have tremendous respect and admiration for, has as usual done a great job with his football team. It’s a well-balanced team. They’ve pretty much led from wire to wire in the AFC, had a great year, great record, outstanding team, do a lot of things well, obviously, and so it will be a big challenge for us and we’re looking forward to the opportunity to compete, and we’ll see what happens on Sunday night.”
