Patriots Players Comment On Brian Flores Likeliness To Become New Coach Of Dolphins

Brian Flores will support his team on Sunday in the AFC Championship Game against the Kansas City Chiefs, and that may be the last time he coaches a game with the guys.

The de facto defensive coordinator will take the head coaching position in Miami. Brian Flores became part of the Patriots family in 2004, and he was first a scouting assistant.

The Patriots are not surprised with his decision to leave the team. The 37-year-old Flores did a really good job in New England, and the players are happy for him.

Patriots cheer on Brian Flores

“I’m not surprised,” cornerback Stephon Gilmore said. “He’s a great coach and he pushes everybody to get the best out of them.”

“He’s done a great job,” Gilmore added. “He can be a friend, he can be a coach and get on you so he can do everything for you. He really cares for the players. He pushes everybody every week and gets the best out of his players.”

Patrick Chung spent several years with Flores, and he agreed with Gilmore.

“I mean, obviously he’s done a great job – we’re in the big game,” Chung said. “He’s definitely a good coach and he likes to mix things up, so it keeps guys off-balance.”

Duron Harmon, on the other hand, has something else to say about it. Every player has a different reaction to this. Harmon is more interested in Flores’ plan for Sunday’s game.

“Phenomenal coach, phenomenal person,” he said. “Looking forward to the game plan he puts together for Kansas City this week.”

Flores will have a bunch of things on his plate. First, he will have to hire a coaching stuff while trying to adjust the team’s strength and weakness. Flores will also have to talk to general manager Chris Grier in order to understand better all the plans he has for the players left on the roster. They will have to work together, and do the best for the team.
