Roy Williams Makes Bombshell Statement About The Michael Jordan/LeBron James Debate

The GOAT debate has affected every aspect of the world of sports. The Michael Jordan-LeBron James debate has reached its peak, and Roy Williams has his favorite.

The whole thing starts with Jordan, LeBron, and then goes with Kobe Bryant, Larry Bird, and Magic Johnson. However, Roy Williams says this debate thing does not exist.

The North Carolina head coach Roy Williams has been close to some of the greatest players ever. He weighed in on the Jordan-LeBron James.

“Michael Jordan is the greatest to ever play,” Williams told USA TODAY Sports on Thursday. “LeBron (James) is in that conversation. He’s awfully impressive … It’s (also) hard to compare (Jordan) to centers like Wilt (Chamberlain) and Kareem (Abdul-Jabbar). But Michael is the best of all-time, in my opinion.”

Roy Williams knows Magic Johnson at its finest

Williams actually helped recruit Jordan from Laney High School in Wilmington to North Carolina. He was also an assistant on Dean Smith’s team for all of Jordan’s three years at UNC.

After winning the Natinal Championship at UNC in 1982, Michael Jordan won the National Player of the Year in 1984 before being picked No. 3 overall by the Chicago Bulls in 1984 NBA Draft. Jordan was a two-time First-Team All-American (1983,1984) at UNC.

Jordan became the best player in Chicago, and his success grew up overnight. His accomplishments are more than impressive.
