Report: Lonzo Ball Gave His Final Decision On Playing For New Orleans Pelicans

The Anthony Davis trade will probably happen in near future, and it comes packed with rumors about Lonzo Ball and the Los Angeles Lakers.

Some say Lonzo will have to leave Los Angeles to make enough room for the star player. However the point guard is not interested in that possibility. Shams Charania of The Athletic reported that Lonzo likes to play for a franchise where there is not an established point guard. This may be a problem for the New Orleans Pelicans, as they have Jrue Holiday.

“Sources: Should Lakers/Pelicans trade talks pick up, point guard Lonzo Ball’s camp prefers Ball to be moved to a third team that doesn’t have an established point guard.”

Lonzo is out of the floor at the moment due to an ankle injury. But, his name was making headlines on Monday after Davis made his trade request. The Lakers also hinted that Ball may be added to the trade deal for Davis.

Broderick Turner and Tania Ganguli of Los Angeles Times reported that the Pelicans may send Davis to LA, but will also have to pay a lot. The Lakers will have to give up on Ball, Kyle Kuzma, Ivica Zubac and a first-round draft pick to get Davis.

Lonzo will have to go

“The New Orleans Pelicans are open to trading Anthony Davis to the Lakers — but it’ll come at a hefty price.

According to sources unauthorized to speak publicly on the deal, a Lakers offer for Davis would have to start with Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma, Ivica Zubac and a first-round draft pick. Davis requested a trade from the Pelicans last week.”

Ball has improved a lot this year, but his value to the team got a little lower after LeBron James joined the squad. They also have Rajon Rondo, and the veteran runs the offense better than the young player.
