Anthony Davis Fined By NBA After Handing Trade Request Amid Lakers Rumors

Anthony Davis made the first step in his trade process, and the NBA hit him with a huge surprise. It is the last thing you will ever think of.

So, the NBA decided to fine Davis after handing in a trade request to his current team.

The Pelicans’ star and his agent Rich Paul told everyone that Davis wants out. This put NBA teams in panic mode as several teams are all in about trading for Davis before the deadline.

The New Orleans Pelicans are far from happy with this development of events, especially the way the decision was reported. The team demands the NBA to “strictly enforce the tampering rules associated with this transaction.” So, the NBA did that. Davis is fined $50,000, as reported by Shams Charania.

Davis received his fine due to his agent “going on the record for a trade request, violating CBA.”

If by any chance you have not heard about it, the Collective Bargaining Agreement is a contract between the NBA and the NBA Players Association which hands in a number of rules related to trades, salary cap and other “details.”

Magic Johnson had to go through the same thing in 2017. The team had to pay half a million for suggesting he contacted Paul George while he was still under contract with the Indiana Pacers.

They were also fined $50,000 right after Johnson made comments on Giannis Antetokounmpo.

The Lakers front office did not say a word about Anthony Davis or the possibility to trade for him, so they are safe for now.

That does not apply for LeBron James. He said he would love to play with Davis on the same team.

“That would be amazing. That would be amazing, like, duh. That would be incredible,” he said.

This got people talking but LeBron is safe, too.
