Jerry Jones Calls Out NFL Officials On Edelman Muff Call

Sunday was actually controversy day as we witnessed a bunch of controversial calls. That’s not a regular practice for the playoffs. But experts still discuss the missed pass interference call that gave the Los Angeles Rams a ticket to the Super Bowl while sending the Saints home. Of course, this was not the only officiating moment that got fans thinking. There was a similar thing in the AFC Championship game between the New England Patriots and Kansas City Chiefs so Jerry Jones decided to talk about it.

What about the officiating moment in the Patriots’ win over the Chiefs? Yes, we are referring to the punt that Patriots receiver Julian Edelman muffed. The call on the field was that the receiver touched the ball and that the Chiefs later recovered it. The review changed the review, and refs ruled that Edelman did not even touch the ball. So, it ended up in the Patriots’ hands. Jerry Jones is one of the most vocal critics of the league, and he talked about the “incidents.”

Jerry Jones disapproves refs’ decisions

“The call on the punt, whether he touched it — you can never get it right, because it was called on the field as a touch and then later, you couldn’t see an angle that he definitely touched it,” Jones said. “But the rule says you’re supposed to go with the call on the field if you can’t see an angle that he didn’t touch it. I don’t know if you can get everything [right].”

It is not like he is arguing that Edelman touched the football. He is just trying to say that since that was the call on the field and it should have stood. Almost everyone believes that Edelman did not touch the bowl.

Jones criticizes NFL officials on regular basis. The NFL better improve its officiating and avoid such “incidents.”
