Jonathan Kraft Gives Definitive Answer On Tom Brady’s Future With Patriots

Patriots quarterback Tom Brady said he will be playing with the team until he is 45, and we do believe that he will stick around for that long. Now Jonathan Kraft came forward with a statement on the GOAT and his future with the team.

In one of his recent interviews, Tom Brady said he will play for the Patriots in 2019 and beyond, and Jonathan Kraft shares the same opinion.

Patriots president Jonathan Kraft went on 98.5 The Sports Hub’s “Zolak & Bertrand” to announce the multiyear broadcast extension with the organization. Well, he got a Brady question. You saw that coming, right? Kraft talked about the quarterback’s contract and his current status with the team.

“I’m only hesitating because there aren’t any adjectives to describe how exceptional he is. Anybody who doubts that doesn’t understand things. Tom is under contract for next year, and I think hopefully people have seen that there’s a real understanding between all of us about how that situation is going to work into the future,” he said.

Brady hits free agency after 2019, but the team may try to keep him on the field until he retires. That may be in 2020 or beyond.

“Tom, we’re so lucky to have him as the quarterback and the leader of our football team… You wouldn’t want anybody else quarterbacking your football team,” Kraft said.

New England will have to make a few important decisions when it comes to their quarterback position. There’s no backup other than Brian Hoyer, and the Pats better look for one in the 2019 NFL Draft or even trade for added depth on this position. Brady said he is playing until 45, and some say that he will change his mind if the Patriots fail in the playoffs. That’s super tricky, don’t you think?
