Lakers Brought Official Decision On LeBron’s Status Vs. Timberwolves

LeBron James will stay out of the game for some time, and the Los Angeles Lakers have brought a decision regarding his status in Thursday’s game against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Head coach Luke Walton confirmed the information regarding LeBron’s status. King James will not suit up for the game, and his absence was extended to 15 games. So there will be no “meeting” with the Timberwolves.

LeBron was active in drills Wednesday, but has not had a full-contact practice since Christmas Day.

Rondo could confront the Timberwolves

Rajon Rondo was also receiving his recovery treatment, and he will be a game-time decision for the upcoming match.

“He’s not out yet for Sunday,” Walton said. “I guess that puts it in play. With him and Rondo, it’s going to be, again, how he’s feeling tomorrow morning and take it from there and see how he’s doing the next day after that and the next day. When they feel ready to play, then they’ll play.”

Rondo said has yet to test his hand in games. “I haven’t had much contact,” the veteran said. “It’s like I have a red jersey or a quarterback jersey on out here. So it will be different in the game.”

“Nobody’s really touched me,” Rondo said. “Except for Lance [Stephenson], he’s hacked me a couple times, but that’s just my jersey and my shoulder.”

Rondo has also been wearing a sleeve that connects his right ring finger to his right middle finger for added stability. He does not have any swelling, but there is definitely a discomfort.

“The only pain I have is in the morning time. It’s just stiff,” he said. “Once I do about an hour and a half worth of work on it, it’s a lot better.”

Walton cannot wait for LeBron and Rondo to come back on the floor.

“Just having his leadership back on the court, whether that’s tomorrow, whether that’s Sunday, Tuesday,” Walton said of Rondo. “Whenever it is, it’s something we need right now.”
