Lakers Caught In Shock Trade Battle With Rockets And Mavericks

Latest reports confirm that the Los Angeles Lakers are trying to win a trade battle, but the Rockets and Mavericks are blocking their success.

The Lakers are doing their best to land Memphis Grizzlies star Chandler Parsons in order to boost the team’s strength. That’s how they got in the middle of this trade battle.

Reinforcement to come before trade deadline

The Lakers are expected to sign a name before February 7. The bad part comes when you realize that the Houston Rockets and Dallas Mavericks are also trying to land the small forward.

Fox Sport’s NBA analyst Jason McIntyre said the Lakers are all in when it comes to inking a deal with Parsons.

“He and Memphis are parting ways obviously or have parted in the last couple of days. Keep an eye on Chandler Parsons and possibly going to the Lakers. But like, cause I know Chandler Parsons has a bad rep around the league as kind of a soft player, but he’s immensely talented.”

“And of course, you know this, he’s a phenomenal shooter. We know the Rockets are going to have interest and the Mavericks are going to have interest.”

“This is a guy who can space the floor, again, doesn’t play a tonne of defense, is perpetually injured. But I would be curious, he’s a big LA guy, you know, he loves going out on the club scene out here in LA. I think he’s going to look hard at and be looked at by the Mavericks, the Lakers and the Rockets,” he added.

“I am extremely disappointed that I didn’t get to finish this season alongside my team-mates and the Memphis coaching staff. Unfortunately that option wasn’t presented to me,” Parson said.

We believe the Lakers have a good chance of adding the Memphis star.
